Wakmann later became an important U.S. distributor of Breitling watches while continuing to offer its own line of chronographs and professional timepieces.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe watch is powered by the Venus caliber 188, a Swiss manual-wind chronograph movement with 17 jewels and Incabloc shock protection. It operates at 18,000 vibrations per hour and provides central chronograph seconds, a 30-minute chronograph counter, and small seconds.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe Venus 188 is a cam-actuated chronograph movement, rather than a column-wheel design. Introduced by Venus in the 1940s, it featured 17 jewels, operated at 18,000 vibrations per hour, and offered approximately 45 hours of power reserve.
